Harvard H. Hill

Harvard H. Hill Jr. is the Managing General Partner of the Houston Partners Private Equity Group, LLC., a Houston-based venture capital investment firm whose concept is to achieve exceptional long-term rates of return by taking manageable investment risks in emerging growth companies and through leveraged acquisitions. In September 1982, he joined Criterion Group to establish its venture capital investment program. He became President of Criterion Investments, Inc. upon its formation in June of 1983. During his tenure as President, he organized and developed two partnerships aggregating $20 million and raised an additional $30 million in partnership subscriptions.

Prior to joining Criterion Group, Mr. Hill was President and Chief Operating Officer of Rotan Mosle, Inc., a regional investment-banking firm located in Houston. During his tenure there, from 1976 through 1982, Rotan Mosle became one of the nation's leading regional investment banking firms, with revenues increasing from approximately $23 million to $115 million and shareholders' equity increasing from approximately $7 million to $38 million. As Chairman of the firm's Private Placement Commitment Committee, Mr. Hill oversaw the investment of over $100 million annually.

As Chairman of the Financial Product Commitment Committee at Rotan Mosle, Mr. Hill was responsible for the management, development, analysis and structuring of private placement partnerships and corporate investments totaling over $350 million between 1976 and 1982. He also served on the Underwriting Committee and was responsible for the research, sale and marketing of 71 negotiated public offerings of corporate equity and debt with a combined value of approximately $1.06 billion during the same period. He was also one of the three members of the Executive Committee which made corporate investments in excess of $10 million for the benefit of Rotan Mosle's private shareholders.

Prior to his tenure at Rotan Mosle, Mr. Hill was Southern California Vice President of Dean Witter & Co.

Mr. Hill received an MBA from Pepperdine University in 1973 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona in 1958. He is a past president and a founder member of the Houston Venture Capital Association. He is a Certified Financial Planner and a member of the International Association of Financial Planners and of the Houston Society of Financial Analysts. He is listed in Who's Who in the World and in Who's Who in Finance and Industry and is a founder and director of the American Leadership Forum.

Mr. Hill has been married since 1958 to his wife, Jan, with whom he has three children, Scott, James and Kelli. He enjoys tennis, hunting, golf, marathons and triathlons.
